WORD STUDY

Word study In the second term of the year, eighth graders are going to work on an activity called “Word Study”. The idea was to motivate students to design and develop some activities that help them to practice new vocabulary. In cycle 9, students had one class to invent/create/design the activities in groups. Then each group went to the board and exposed their activities. In cycle 10, after having the new activities ready, students learned words related to thanksgiving and they did the activities to practice the vocabulary learned. https://quizlet.com/739321156/flashcards The teacher made “the word study contract” with the activities students designed. This activity will be developed every two cycles. The word study activity helps students to learn vocabulary in a fun way. Being activities that they designed themselves, it will be easier for them to remember the vocabulary learned.

Los estudiantes de octavo grado realizaron una actividad llamada “Estudio de palabras”. La idea es motivarlos a diseñar y desarrollar algunas actividades que les ayudarán a practicar vocabulario nuevo. En el ciclo 9, los estudiantes tenían una clase para inventar/crear/diseñar las actividades en grupos, para luego exponerlas al resto del grupo. Posteriormente, hicimos un “contrato de estudio de palabras” con las actividades diseñadas por los estudiantes. Esta actividad se desarrollará cada dos ciclos. 

La actividad de estudio de palabras ayuda a los estudiantes a aprender vocabulario de una manera divertida. Al ser actividades diseñadas por ellos mismos, les será más fácil recordar el vocabulario aprendido.
