SAINT PATRICK’S DAY CELEBRATION CMA

On March 14th the students from Colegio Mayor de los Andes from nursery to eleventh grade had a special moment in which they spread creativity, good attitude, smiles and joy each others through the different activities carried out during this day. They all wore green and orange t-shirts and they also put on some accessories regarding the topic of Saint Patrick.

1. a) In nursery, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and transition the students made the handcraft “Saint Patrick’ shaped sticks”, they also learned and sang the song “GREEN Saint Patrick” and they made shamrocks where they wrote why they felt lucky.
2. b) In elementary, the students went through different activities such as making leprechaun corner bookmarks, creating rainbows in CMA lab, playing Saint Patrick’s bingo,and discovering Saint Patrick’s hidden pictures.
3. c) In high school the students for the first time in their lives created a leprechaun trap and then these traps were full of surprises such as: candy and erasers and we also had by grade an only one trap which successfully caught a little leprechaun that was passing by.

We hope our students community liked this wonderful experience and continue growing their imagination and creativity; key components to promote and enhance the IB profiles.

El pasado 14 de marzo los alumnos del Colegio Mayor de los Andes desde párvulos hasta grado once tuvieron un momento especial en el que contagiaron creatividad, buena actitud, sonrisas y alegría a través de las diferentes actividades realizadas durante esta jornada. Todos vistieron camisetas verdes y naranjas y también se pusieron algunos accesorios relacionados con el tema de San Patricio.

1. a) En párvulos, prekínder, kínder y transición, los estudiantes realizaron la manualidad “Palos en forma de San Patricio”, también aprendieron y cantaron la canción “San Patricio VERDE” y elaboraron tréboles donde escribieron por qué se sentían afortunados.
2. b) En primaria, los estudiantes realizaron diferentes actividades como hacer marcapáginas de esquina con duendes, crear arcoíris en el laboratorio de CMA, jugar al bingo de San Patricio y descubrir los dibujos ocultos de San Patricio.
3. c) En secundaria, los estudiantes por primera vez en sus vidas, crearon una trampa de duende y luego estas trampas estaban llenas de sorpresas como: dulces y borradores y también teníamos por grado una única trampa que atrapó exitosamente a un pequeño duende que fue pasando por ahi.

Esperamos que a nuestra comunidad de estudiantes les haya gustado esta maravillosa experiencia y sigan haciendo crecer su imaginación y creatividad; componentes clave para promover y mejorar los perfiles del IB.
