Math Connections in the Unit of Inquiry: Do you know your size and weight?

Los estudiantes del grado transición, desde su unidad de indagación, tuvieron como invitada experta, a Mrs. Sandrita, la enfermera del colegio. En una jornada de talla y peso, conectaron sus presaberes con la importancia de conocer los instrumentos de medida e identificar los números, para poder conocer cuánto miden y cuánto pesan.  Luego de la actividad, dialogaron sobre las decisiones que influyen en su estilo de vida y por ende en su salud, aprendiendo a ser equilibrados frente a sus hábitos alimenticios y estilo de vida.

Our transition grade students had Ms. Sandrita as an expert guest. In a journal to follow up on their growth, they connected their pre-knowledge with the importance of knowing the measuring instruments and identifying numbers to know their size and weight.  Then, they talk about the decisions that influence their lifestyle and, therefore, their health, learning to be balanced regarding their eating habits and lifestyle.
