GETTING CLOSER TO THE IRISH CULTURE

During one of our classes, eleventh graders had the chance to interact with Mrs. Briege McQuaid, an Irish teacher who lives in Donegal, Republic of Ireland. She has been teaching in different countries and has had the opportunity to teach English, Irish, French, and even Spanish. The CMA students interviewed her about different topics such as Irish stereotypes, religious beliefs, customs, and the educational system, but time was short for their curiosity. She finishes thanking them, saying, ” You are so blessed to have such beautiful students… I really enjoyed the whole experience too.

Durante una de nuestras clases, los estudiantes de grado once tuvieron la oportunidad de interactuar con la señora Briege McQuaid, profesora Irlandés, quien vive en el condado de Donelas en la República de Irlanda. Ella ha sido docente en diferentes países y ha tenido la oportunidad de enseñar inglés, irlandés, francés e incluso español. Nuestros estudiantes la entrevistaron acerca de diferentes temas tales como: los estereotipos acerca de los irlandeses, creencias religiosas, costumbres y el sistema educativo. El tiempo fue corto para resolver todas las preguntas que se tenían. Ella terminó agradeciendo a través de las siguientes palabras: “Eres muy bendecida por tener unos estudiantes tan maravillosos… Realmente disfruté de la experiencia”
