ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRIES

In the English class, the 7thB graders presented very interesting facts about some English speaking countries; they mentioned relevant information in terms of culture, sports, geographical location, important people, flora and fauna, typical food, etc. The idea with these presentations was to make students aware about the impact of the English language around the world since when the teacher asked them about the English Speaking Countries they knew, they just mentioned England, Canada and the US. During the presentations students recognized that there are plenty of countries whose first language is English and whose culture enriches not only the language itself but also shows the students a different way to approach this culture through customs and traditions different from the most usual or recognized English Speaking countries.

En la clase de inglés, los alumnos de 7º B presentaron datos muy interesantes sobre algunos países de habla inglesa; mencionaron información relevante en cuanto a cultura, deportes, ubicación geográfica, personajes importantes, flora y fauna, comida típica, etc. La idea con estas presentaciones fue concientizar a los estudiantes sobre el impacto del idioma inglés alrededor del mundo ya que cuando la docente les preguntó sobre los países de habla inglesa que conocían, solo mencionaron Inglaterra, Canadá y los Estados Unidos.
