Las matemáticas hacen parte de nuestra vida cotidiana y hacemos uso de ellas gran parte del tiempo, así que es muy interesante conocerlas a partir de la experiencia. Por eso, durante esta sesión con estudiantes de grado segundo, aprendimos el concepto de distancia, longitud y sus correspondientes unidades de medida a partir del diseño de una catapulta manual, mediante la cual lanzamos diferentes objetos y medimos sus distancias, además de incluir creatividad en los diseños, trabajo en equipo y ayuda mutua.

Math makes part of our daily life, we use it every day in several situations, so it’s very interesting to know and touch it by the experience. For that reason, during this session student from second grade learnt about the distance and length concepts and its corresponding units of measurement through the design of a manual catapult in which students throw different kind of objects and measure them in several distances. They also include a lot of creativity, teamwork and cooperation.
